STATEMENT ABOUT PRESIDENT DUTERTE CALLING VICE PRESIDENT ROBREDO AS "INCOMPETENT"

I am very much disappointed knowing that the President himself called Vice President Leni Robredo as "incompetent" last week.

The said remarks was given by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte after the Vice President already decided that she will lead the opposition group against the President following his recent controversies during the past days.

The Chief Executive also said that Robredo is unfit for the Presidency, as she did not have the skills or running a country like the Philippines.

Duterte earlier said that if the draft constitution prepared by his Consultative Committee will be put into force, he will step down as President. Thus giving the people an idea that he wanted the Vice President to succeed him. But he corrected it by saying that he wanted an elected official to succeed his term as President.

In my own personal view, it would be unprofessional for the President to call the Vice President as "incompetent". It only reflects to 14,418,817 Filipinos who casted their vote to the Vice President - being also "incompetent". That should not be a leader's attitude towards his people. His words also shows on what kind of person he is. A head of state must be careful with his actions as he symbolizes the people - the same with the Vice President.

To end this, I would like to leave a quote that would sum up the remarks of the President towards his Vice President:

"It is better to have a leader that is incompetent that uplifts the life of his people than to have a competent leader who continues to blunder and kill poor and innocent people."
