I fully support the recount of votes for the Vice Presidential race filed at the Supreme Court acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) to prove the authenticity and validity of the votes earned by Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" G. Robredo against former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos, Jr. during the May 9, 2016 National and Local Elections.
The PET Case No. 005 was filed by defeated Vice Presidential candidate and then Senator Bongbong Marcos at the Supreme Court last June 29, 2016 - a day before Vice President-elect Leni Robredo will took her oath of office.

In the complaint, Marcos Jr. questioned the authenticity of the election results for the Vice Presidential race as it has allegedly been manipulated by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) when his votes has started going down and Robredo's votes were unprecedentedly going up - even surpassing him to the top spot in the partial and unofficial results as transmitted by Vote Counting Machines (VCM's).
But even the other election watchdogs were showing the same results as what COMELEC also generates and it was certified as valid by the Congress, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers. So to make it short, Robredo really won the election.

But why is Marcos roaring up until now just to claim a post he must never hold? Why is it that he is too bitter for losing an electoral process that has been clean and honest? Here's why:
He is hunger for power. The Marcos family has been in politics for so many years - since Mariano Marcos (Ferdinand's father and Bongbong's grandfather) was elected. This is (I think so) his first defeat in the Philippine elections that's why it's a big shame for him not to file a protest that would eventually be another shameful act that he did;
He was beaten by a neophyte candidate in politics. Robredo is a newbie when it comes to politics. She was elected in 2013 after her husband former Naga City Mayor and DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo died in 2012. She only served in just 3 years prior to her election as Vice President. It's a shame for him to be defeated by a newbie when they had been in politics since 1920's.
He was defeated by a woman, and a congresswoman. In all of the Vice Presidential candidates in the 2016 elections, Robredo is the only legislator from the House of Representatives and woman candidate to vie for the Vice President post. It would be again, a shame on his part that he lose the position he is seeking for by a woman and a member or the House of Representatives where in fact, he could just lose by a man and an experienced member of the Senate.
As a Filipino citizen and a registered voter, I support this act to allow the recount of votes for the 3 pilot provinces of Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental - as determined by Marcos, Jr. for I strongly believe that it will not change the election results and Robredo will still emerge as the duly-elected Vice President of the Philippines.

If there has no significant change in the number of votes that Robredo and Marcos, Jr. received in these 3 provinces, then the PET would be certifying the complaint of Marcos, Jr. as dismissed due to lack of merit as it was earlier ruled.

Let us pray that in the end, truth will prevail over deceit and evil.
